11/5/2023 0 Comments Fireside cabins pagosa springs coI spoke with Cabin 106 and I thanked them multiple times when talking to them and responded to the area directly after only to find out it was gas. I received a call from several cabins that night. We did tell him he could go to the fire pit area and set it up which he chose not to do. Level 2 fire restriction allows propane, however we did have him put it away since we do not allow fires (gas or wood) regardless of the fire ban at the river side and only allow them in our designated fire pit area which is located at the tent area about 200 feet away. He had a GAS /propane fire pit that he had brought with him from home which was NOT illegal. We understand about dogs shedding and hair on the floors in the cabins and do not charge for hair in normal places but again do not allow them on the furniture or bedding. We are dog owners as well and have a white lab like one of your dogs. We do have other cabins that are not as expensive if you are trying to save some money we would have tried to have you switch. We have multiple cabin types, your one night stay cost you $296 because you booked one of our river cabin which is one of our most popular and expensive cabins, with two dogs ($20 extra each dog) If you check the surrounding area most pet fees are anywhere between $15-$100 per night. I felt I was fair and showed some compassion for the added damage cost and appreciated you telling us about the comforter at check out only charging you $50 for the comforter replacement. (Comforter replacement $50 and $35 for the excessive hair). We charged you only $50 for the replacement of the White comforter in the bedroom that had muddy paw prints all over it ( We bleached and washed the comforter multiple times but still had multiple stains from the prints and we were unable to put a stained comforter in the cabin.) The total damage fee would have been $85. All other damage is based on what the cost to replace the item (which it also states in the policy). Your pet blanket/ bedding was found on the futon. ( which you signed and agreed to) In your Cabin we found hair all over the furniture bedding which it clearly state several times in multiple places in the policy they are not allowed on the furniture or bedding. Our policy does say there is a $35-$75 cleaning fee for excessive hair. We are pet friendly but unfortunately pets are unpredictable and can cause damage which our guest will be responsible for the cost. We work hard on keeping everything well maintained. All in all it’s beautiful and well kept but one night actually cost $296 because of my dogs. We even called them on Saturday night when some idiot had a campfire by the river during Level 2 Fire restrictions. Then $50 extra taken out of my account without so much as an email. Anyhow- we went to the office, trying to be proactive. (Theses places either give you the worst room or charge a ton of money if a Pet is involved. I felt sick because I was almost out of money and now my dog made it so I had to pay even more than the $20 a piece I already paid. We went to the office because the policy was and extra $35 charge. We tried to stop her from jumping up, and grabbed her. Our little dog did and left 7-8 prints on the blanket. However even though it says it’s dog friendly, it really will cost you if you dog sheds or walks in wet morning grass and leaves a paw print.
